 Dear Community Member,

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about an exciting new program that the Native American Rehabilitation Association of the Northwest, Inc. (NARA NW) is opening in October 2005.

With the help of the Housing Authority of Portland, NARA NW has obtained a five-bedroom home in North Portland that we will now be able to provide transitional housing for our Native American women and their children.

Our new transitional housing is a huge undertaking and we need your help.

We are requesting an in-kind tax-deductible donation of new household items and furnishings including: beds, mattresses, pillows, linens, kitchen appliances, cribs, playpens, lamps, bathroom items, books, and cookware.

We have registered for the above items at the following stores: Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Home Depot, Kitchen Kaboodle and Wal Mart.  We are registered under the name NARA NW.  You can also choose to make a financial donation to NARA on behalf of the Women and Children’s transitional home.

With your help, we can provide a new start for women and their children in safe and healthy home environment while providing them with vital services to help them thrive in the community.

If you would like to view pictures of the home, please visit our webpage at:
