The Native American Rehabilitation Association of the Northwest (NARA-NW) is Indian-owned and Indian-operated.  Established in 1970, NARA-NW employs over one hundred workers in five Portland locations.  As a private, non-profit organization, we provide culturally appropriate services (physical/mental health and substance abuse treatment) for American Indians, Alaska Natives and other vulnerable peoples.

RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT

CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY COUNSELOR: To provide treatment groups to inpatient clients. Will facilitate group sessions, organize material, books, slides, films, and equip. Provides weekly one to one counseling sessions for assigned clients, provide referrals, complete charting & documentation. TO QUALIFY:  Minimum CADC1 or CDS1 w/minimum 1 year paid experience as a chemical dependency counselor &  experience presenting Treatment Groups is a must.  No bus service to the Residential location.

 

FAMILY SERVICES

CLINICAL SUPERVISOR MH:  Responsible for providing clinical supervision for Systems of Care clinical staff and assuring the quality of services provided. Will conduct assessments & individual, group, couple, family and multifamily therapy sessions and assist in the development and implementation of project services & policies.  Will serve as consultant and liaison with referral sources and treatment providers.  TO QUALIFY:  Requires a Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or psychiatric nursing; current licensure as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT w/dual diagnosis experience; a minimum of 5 years paid progressive experience in a behavioral health program providing services to children, youth and families & have a minimum of three years clinical supervision experience of MH Clinicians.  Alcohol & Drug Counseling Certification preferred.

 

FAMILY PARTNER:  Will provide peer support to parents served by the program, facilitate assessment of services, make referrals to services as appropriate for client needs, and follow-up on referrals to determine outcome of interventions  Will assist clients in completing applications and setting appointments with community resource agencies to facilitate access to transportation, housing, medical care and other resources and them to assessments or appointments when appropriate.  Will ensure services are family driven & child focused, will reach out to youth and families, orient families to Wraparound, coordinate and participate in child and family team meetings, work with the project staff and Nox-nu-wit Operations Team to identify underserved communities and devise strategies for outreach and access.  TO QUALIFY:   High School Diploma or GED plus min. 1 year of experience performing the duties noted above or equivalent.  Must have personal or professional experience assisting parents with children/youth who have had or are receiving mental health services, experience working with community resources and social service agencies, demonstrated skills and ability to serve as an advocate for clients, and proven success in using Microsoft Word or equivalent.  Position requires superior communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.

 

CARE COORDINATORS (7 positions):  Will provide culturally appropriate clinical assessment and formulation, develop treatment plans and provide appropriate counseling as part of a Systems of Care for Native youth (9-21) and their families.  Participates in a team that is family centered and strength based. Provides Wrap Around level of services in the community, schools and home setting.  TO QUALIFY:  Masters level clinician, strongly prefer licensed (LCSW or LPC), preference given to eligible Native American applicants and those with culturally specific skills and experience working in the Native community.  Skills, abilities and willingness in clinical documentation as per OAR’s and grant requirements.  Position requires a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

 

CLINIC

MEDICAL RECORDS SUPERVISOR (Certified): Responsible for leading and monitoring the delivery of agency medical records services and ensuring all activities are in compliance with HIPAA requirements and federal/state, Indian Health Service, and JCAHO regulations.  Performs and supervises activities related, but not limited to, the retrieval, distribution and filing of medical record information needed for patient care, finance, and research, legal or filing purposes.  Coordinates Quality Assurance review of medical records to ensure complete documentation. TO QUALIFY: Accredited Records Technician, HS diploma or equivalent,  plus course work in medical terminology, and a minimum of 4 years direct medical records experience and 2 years experience supervising the work of others.  Must demonstrates a commitment to exceptional customer service, organization values and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor, assure confidentiality and protect sensitive data, work collaboratively and support efforts of team members.

ALL POSITIONS REQUIRE:

·     Minimum of two years sobriety/clean time, if in recovery

·     Ability to pass criminal background investigation to rule out any history of sexual and/or child abuse

·     Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen
