Our Residential Treatment Center is located on 11 acres of land in Northwest Portland, which provides a variety of treatment services to adults ages 17 and up. Parents are able to bring their children up to age 5 with them into treatment. NARA provides an on-site child development center with infant and toddler teachers and a family therapist. OUR STAFF The Residential Treatment Center is licensed by the State of Oregon to provide alcohol and drug treatment services and mental health treatment services and staffed with licensed chemical dependency counselors, licensed clinical social workers, family nurse practitioners, registered nurses, medical doctors, psychiatrist, and psychologist. Referrals for Residential Treatment are taken Monday through Friday during business hours. Please contact one of our admission coordinators at 503.621.1069. All calls are returned within one business day. Individuals seeking treatment will need a current Alcohol & Drug Assessment, Physical Exam, and TB test prior to being reviewed and approved by the admissions committee. Our treatment approach is holistic and incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Enhancement Therapy within the context of American Indian and Alaska Native spirituality and culture. All treatment is developed using a strength-based approach to build on the positive supports and strengths of each individual, their children, and their family. Length of stay in Residential Treatment can be up to 6 months if deemed clinically appropriate, with an average of up to 8 hours a day of scheduled treatment activities.
